There is something refreshing about bands that just play rock and Norway’s Bommerang Rapido is such a band. After three years of concerts and several 7-inch releases, here comes their debut album Rises Again. It is full of 60s and 70s vibes in a fresh and modern package, packed with energy, riffs and catchy choruses.
This is not a band trying to re-invent the wheel, but taking the best of rock and punk and making it their own with songs that make you smile and sing along.
Today, we’ve got an exclusive premiere of their latest single “Baby I Was Wrong”. At only a minute and a half long, it’s full of sounds reminiscent of the early 60s. Bouncy, bright and breezy, it’s pop rock at its finest whilst the title tells you everything you need to know – it’s all about asking your other half for forgiveness.
Boomerang Rapido started with an idea of making music that inspired people to drink beer and have a good time. High school friends Jørn and Ole Frederik got to know Knut and later his brother Gaute and the four formed Boomerang Rapido. Playing a lot of gigs the first year and getting known for their high energy shows, the band started to make a name for themselves in Oslo. Helping them capture that energy in the studio was producer Morten Øby, who recorded and mixed the debut album, Rises Again. The collection of songs shows a range in style, while maintaining a recognizable playfulness from the two primary songwriters on the album, Jørn and Gaute.
