Fast-rising Brit anthemic rockers, and recent Headline Act, Foxhaunt will deliver their much-appreciated new EP, Mindset, on Friday 4th February. Drawing comparisons to everyone from Architects, Linkin Park and Don Broco, the release is sure to send the UK alt-rock crew to new heights. We exclusively spoke to the band and asked them to give a track by track breakdown of the record:
Enemy
“Enemy” embodies the frustration we all were subjected to throughout the last two years, and seeking out something to pin the blame on. This track is a call to defiance and control and how quickly you can lose the respect of someone responsible for the wellbeing of others.
Parallels
This track is a story of the lack of connection between two people. You can try as hard as humanly possible – but sometimes what was there, simply isn’t anymore. “Parallels” has an unapologetically “Foxhaunt” backbone while dipping into our more pop sounding influences alongside it.
Ronin
“Ronin” is a very on the nose reflection on how everything through this pandemic has been handled. We knew with such a strong viewpoint, the track needed to reflect the tenacity of the message. Delving more into production, adding big string sections and stacking the guitars sky high.
Monster
This track refers heavily to the anxieties and fears we have in our lives that strike up when presented both with opportunities and roadblocks alike. Realising the internal battle you struggle with doesn’t determine who you are. “Monster” definitely displays that we have still retained the roots we began this band with.
Make Me Feel Alive
We all struggle with finding that certain something that makes the sparks in our heads brighter. “Make Me Feel Alive” displays the struggle with turning to something else to attain a certain feeling that has been absent for a long, long time. [we featured the video for this track recently – Mosh]
