Electronic artist/producer, Klayton, best known as Celldweller and Circle Of Dust, who recently launched the 80s inspired synthwave project Scandroid, has premiered an official music video for “Shout,” his cover of the #1 hit by Tears For Fears.
While the track itself is perhaps a little too close to the original (at least to my memory of it), the video is full of 80’s style footage, including a segment which will answer that facebook riddle for people too young to … what on earth does a pencil have to do with a cassette tape anyway?
Klayton comments:
I was moved the instant I heard Tears For Fears’ “Shout” on U.S. radio in 1985. I’ve always had the intention and desire to cover the song since then, but it really came into focus this year. What isn’t commonly known about the original song was that it was written during a time of political unrest and had political overtones. I felt that in light of the embarrassing circus that was the recent U.S. election, it was the perfect time for me to finally cover this song.
