Interview: Revolve

Revolve 192Cruel Minded Hardcore just announced a show with the best Scottish lineup 2016 has seen so far. For anyone with even a ing interest in hardcore, a bill featuring Riot Conduct, Revolve, Eternal War, Deceit, and Revulsion needs no introduction. It looks set to be a real celebration of one of the most vibrant, creative, and energetic scenes in the country, if not hardcore worldwide!

Whether you’re completely new to hardcore, looking to catch up with some of the newer bands on the scene, or just want to some killer heavy music from Scotland, you definitely don’t want to miss this gig! So, to whet our appetites, we’ve been catching up with each of the bands on the bill in quickfire Q&A sessions.  Next we have Glasgow’s Revolve!

How would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard you before?

We are a fast paced hardcore band with plenty of influence from crossover thrash and a few hints towards nineties metalcore.

What can we expect from your live show?

A load of onstage energy with mosh calls and riffs.

Where are you from? How long have you been playing together?

We’re a Glasgow based band who have been playing together for a year more or less.

Which bands would you say influenced you?

Faster hardcore bands such as Build and Destroy and Turnstile although our newer songs incorporate elements from bands like xRepentancex and Blistered.

Which band are you most looking forward to watching at this show?

Revulsion always put on a great show, really looking forward to seeing them again. Eternal War as well as we haven’t had the chance to see them since they dropped their EP.

Any big plans for 2016?

Our split with Eternal War out soon, drop our first EP in the second half of the year, and hopefully a weekender/ tour at some point.

Revolve will play with Riot Conduct, Eternal War, Deceit, and Revulsion at Glasgow’s Audio on Monday 14th March.
