Much like we endeavour every year before Bloodstock, this year, for Scotland’s Wildfire Festival which kicks off on 22nd June, we’re interviewing every band set to play the stages of Wiston. You get to hear (or read) right from the horse’s mouth who you should be watching over the course of the weekend.
Previous years have seen some excellent acts grace the stages as our reviews can attest to and trust us when we say this year is no different! So get reading and listening so you can plan your coffee/beer/food breaks accordingly…
Our thanks to all the bands for taking the time out to answer our questions!

Simple things first – where are you guys from?
Hello people of Wildfire! We are Dobermann, hailing from the lovely country of Italy. Though we feel a little British too, having spent so much time in the UK – we picked up all your bad habits.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
The band exists since 2011, a couple of casualties, this lineup got together in 2014.
Where does the name of the band come from?
It’s a dog breed. And believe it or not, it’s spelled with two ‘N’s. Woof!
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
It’s rock and roll. Played our own way. Come see us!
What’s your live show like? Why should people watch you?
Raw rock and roll straight to the point. We have almost 700 gigs under our belt. That makes it a pretty rehearsed show!
Have you played Wildfire before? If so, when?
Never had the pleasure before and we are looking forward to it.
What sort of setlist can we expect?
A few tracks from our latest album, Pure Breed. Maybe something new, maybe some classic song revisited. We’ll see.
Which band are you most looking forward to seeing?
Thundermother. We’ve heard they’re pretty good. We have a thing for girls with guitars.
What have you got planned for the second half of 2018?
We have another UK tour planned for October and we’ll be gigging non-stop in Italy and Europe as usual.
What’s been the highlight for the band’s career so far?
We consider a highlight the whole fact of being able to survive for 7 years as a band with no label management or booking agency. It’s pretty hard out there.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
A few months ago we had to spend the whole night pushing the crowd off the stage while trying to keep singing and playing our instruments at the same time. It was a little venue packed beyond capacity and it was getting out of control. Normally we end the set with a cover of “Ace of Spades”. We knew if we had played that song it would have been pandemonium, so we decided not to do so!
If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be ing and which band would you choose to open for you? A chance to plug someone you’ve toured with, or a mate’s band we’ve not heard of before!
We’d like to share the stage with Stop Stop and The Amorettes. They’re brilliant.
What day/time are you playing at Wildfire? (If you have your slot yet!)
Sunday night, 8pm. See you there!
Pistonhead Lager, Cloven Hoof rum or Thistly Cross cider? And yes, we’ll be counting the votes!
3 pints of Pistonhead please!
