As ever, we’re going to try and cover every single Jäger, New Blood and SOPHIE stage band before Bloodstock kicks off on August 9th. Your chance to check them out and start planning which bands to get there early for!
Trust us when we tell you that this is bound to result in some frustrating clashes because, as ever, there are some great bands on these three stages.
Our thanks to all the bands for taking the time out to answer our questions!
Limb – Sophie Lancaster Stage, Saturday
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
Hi there, we’re based in London but are from all over the UK
How long have you been playing together as a band?
In August I think it’s been 7 years? Don’t quote me on that though!
Where does the name of the band come from?
I was just looking through old emails to see if I could see the original discussion about the band name. It’s been such a long time I can’t really the discussion.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
I think what makes us unique is that we’re not scared to wear our influences on our sleeve a bit. We are at heart, music lovers. I think our new album Saboteurs Of The Sun reflects that by how varied it is.
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
It’s an intense live show with lots of different elements and soundscapes, we use a lot of different ticks to bring our set together… Come and see for yourself!
Have you played Bloodstock before? If so, when? How/when did you find out that you’d be playing the SOPHIE stage?
We haven’t played before but know / have watched lots that have. I guess we found out a couple of months ago, exciting stuff!
What sort of setlist can we expect?
A definite lean towards the new album but we’ll have some of our back catalogue in there too. Fun for all the family!
Which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
Wow, that’s a tough one! I’m going to say Suicidal Tendencies… Even though I know we’re not!
What are you working on at the moment?
Well, we’ll be working on more new live shows towards the end of the year. Get out there and see and some faces.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
You see some stuff, that’s for sure! We had a wild one at Into The Void Festival a couple of years ago. We clashed with another popular doom band so we brought the party… Hard.
Jager, Hobgoblin Ale, Red Bull, Kingstone Press Cider, Kaltenberg Beer or Bulleit Bourbon? And, yes, we’ll be counting all the votes!
Man oh man, all the tough questions! I’ll say Jager although I love them all dearly.
