Another charity event raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust (see Headbangers Balls) as well as Nordoff Robbins and Childline is Heavy Metal Truants. Kicked off by Iron Maiden frontman Rod Smallwood, a group of cyclists will set off from London on June 12th at 9am with the aim of getting to by Friday lunchtime.
ing Rod on the ride, so far, are Metal Hammer editor Alex Milas, Trivium’s Paolo Gregoletto, Paradise Lost frontman Nick Holmes, Young Guns drummer Ben Jolliffe, Classic Rock Editor-In-Chief Scott Rowley, Prog Editor Jerry Ewing and Planet Rock presenter Wyatt Wendels. A bunch of fans have also signed up.
Metal Hammer are kindly offering a pair of tickets to this year’s Golden Gods Awards (featuring Five Finger Death Punch, Coal Chamber, Paradise Lost and Motorhead) to everyone who s the ride.
