Me Vs Hero announce new album and tour

Me Vs Hero - I'm Completely FineUnbelievably, it’s been four years since the release of UK pop punks Me Vs Hero’s runaway-underground-success debut album Days That Shape Our Lives and now the band are finally ready to reveal that their long awaited forthcoming second album I’m Completely Fine will be released on Monday 1st September – see below for tracklist.

Fans can preorder on iTunes now or check out a range of bundle options with merchandise and physical copies via bandcamp – all preorders come with an instant of unreleased album track “Skin and Bones”.

The quintet are also pleased to reveal a UK headline tour in of the new album which starts on Thursday 18th September in Bristol and finishes on 24th September at O2 Academy2 Birmingham. Tickets go on sale Wednesday 25th June at 9am.

“Honestly?” comments front man Sam Thompson on the new record, “This album nearly ended Me Vs Hero numerous times. What started out as a joke two years ago paraphrasing Alan Partridge’s immortal line – ‘yeah I’m completely fine’ – actually became too literal for us.”

“We put faith in people that couldn’t deliver the end product that we knew this record needed, it cost us financially and set us back exponentially. In the end we recorded it ourselves, from vocals in a council estate high rise, to guitars in a rubbish filled garage. It wasn’t a pretty sight, it certainly wasn’t comfortable and it was hugely hit and miss. Thankfully Romesh Dodangoda of Longwave Studios and Chris Gehringher of Sterling Sound rekindled our ion, delivering a fantastic mix and a flawless master.”

“We don’t expect people to feel sorry for us, we know people got bored of waiting for us, some people will love what we’ve done, others won’t. We started this record four years ago; we’re just happy it’s finally coming out.”

After enough lows for any band to contend with, Me Vs Hero are finally back where they belong and are most definitely riding high once more; chomping at the bit to release new material and get back on the road – there’s life in the old dog yet, and I’m Completely Fine sees the light of day just in time to bring some rays of pop punk sunshine to what can only be counted on as being a stereotypically British summer.
