The following blurb is from the promotion agency, but I just want to add my few pennies’ worth beforehand. I’ve received a copy of the EP and it’s superb. Really great, catchy rock ‘n’ roll.
I’m not sure of the value in having two mixes of each song – I can barely tell the difference on a couple of them – but the core six tracks are great.
It’s not out until August, but – hell – that’s only weeks away now! I’d get saving and try to get one of the first 77 copies…
ANNOUNCING: ROXIE 77 – The Ameriswede – released August 2014. 12 tracks – 6 brand new songs (with two mixes of each). This release will be pressed *exclusively* on vinyl w/digital & CD copy included! The first *77* copies will be pressed on limited-edition RED VINYL!
Roxie 77 is a rock band featuring vocalist/guitarist/songwriter, RYAN ROXIE, long-time collaborator and guitarist for Alice Cooper & lead guitarist for Swedish band Casablanca. After forming Roxie 77 in 2002 in Los Angeles and a debut release, Peace, Love & Armageddon two years later, Roxie relocated to Sweden in 2006 and assembled the current lineup of Anton Körberg, Magnus Wikström & Eric Rydman. The band released the lush Two Sides To Every Story in 2009.
Originally intended to be a two track 7″ – Roxie’s naturally prolific nature meant the project blossomed into a six-song 12” EP release with dual mixes of each song – with an “American” side mixed by fellow Alice Cooper guitarist Tommy Henriksen, and a “Swedish” side mixed by producer Jon Bordon. The end result is a classic, high energy, infectious power-pop record, laced with echoes of Cheap Trick, Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers, Stars & Sloan.
