Dead City Ruins sign European deal

first encountered opening for Skid Row and Ugly Kid Joe in Glasgow have landed themselves an international contract. This is great news, not just for them but for all bands who are prepared to work there arses off for the cause.

Statement from the band is as follows:

Tonight we shall be celebrating that due to relentless touring, Dead City Ruins with help from Rick Butterworth of Third Verse Entertainment, has signed an international record deal with German metal/rock label Metalville Records. That’s right, were now label buddys with Ugly Kid Joe!!!

After label owner Holger Koch saw Dead City Ruins play in Cologne he fell in love with the album and wanted to work with the band. The European release will include a bonus track AC/DC cover of “Rock ’n’ Roll Damnation” featuring Whitfield Crane (Ugly Kid Joe) on vocals.

“After meeting label head Holger Koch back stage at a show in and sharing a few words over a few German beers, I gave him our latest album …. When Holger got back to us stating the album had been on repeat in the office and with an offer I straight away ran it past Whit (Ugly Kid Joe), who had nothing but praise for Holger and his team. For a touring band like Dead City Ruins, having a German label as our home not only makes perfect business sense, it’s got us ecstatic and screaming to get back out on the road. We couldn’t be more stoked!!” – Haggis

The album will be released internationally on Friday October 24th with Australian & European Tour dates to follow shortly after.

So keep ya eyes peeled people, you thought we were keen on international tours when we had no one, with a German label on our side DCR will be stepping it up a notch!!
