Exterminas from Italy play steely, gritty and sharp black metal on their sophomore full length release put out by the rising label Satanath Records (Russia) in collaboration with Metallic Media (US).
Close attention has been paid to the formation of the nature and tone of the riffs, which remain supreme in the band’s arsenal, being partly reminiscent of the unbeatable Japanese black/thrash bands, as well as of the black metal giant Inquisition. Those that believe black metal entails repetition and poor musicianship masked by indecipherable production values, need to give Exterminas a listen.
Sounding massive, thrashy and amply clear, the band churn out excellent riffs around thought out song structures, ensuring memorability, drive and great repeat value. Dichotomy therefore happens to be a standout album in this flagging genre due to its superior musicianship, catchiness and all-round competence especially when playing thrash-induced occult-tinged black metal.
Dichotomy was released on November 11th and can be streamed in full and purchased via Satanath Records’ bandcamp page.
