We featured Methane as Band of the Day back at the start of the year and they mentioned that they had a new album pretty much done – they were just waiting for someone to distribute it for them. Well, it looks like they managed to find that someone.
Swedish Southern metal band Methane has signed a record deal with Sony d Dark Star Records and is now in planning for the release of the band’s first full length studio album entitled The Devil’s Own. Prior to this, Methane have released 2 EP singles: Southern Metal (2014) and Spit on Your Grave (2015) including 2 music videos. Methane was also featured in the world’s first E-novel with music in 2015 and chosen to compete at The Hard Rock Café’s global battle of the bands, ‘ Hard Rock Rising’, two years in a row making Methane the first ever metal band to perform at the Hard Rock in Stockholm Sweden.
Dark Star Records is a cutting edge major label in association with Sony Music Entertainment. The label was founded by Jeffrey A. Swanson in 1996 and has released over 60 albums worldwide. Many of their bands have topped the charts on radio, video, iTunes and Amazon sales lists. Bands have been featured in movies, commercials and video games from around the World. Now, with the help of Lloyd Freeze (Vice President of Dark Star Records), the label has been able to sign some of the best talent on the planet. And, with the skills of their talented staff have been able market their artists to all of the latest platforms and retail outlets around the globe.

We are almost finished with the album production and we have Swedish artist Christian Wallin, who has done work for Hardcore Superstar and Sister Sin, working on an awesome cover concept. We don’t have the release date yet but we’re hoping to unleash the beast as soon as possible
