Martin Birch – producer / sound engineer famous for working with the likes of Iron Maiden, Whitesnake and Black Sabbath – has ed away aged 71. The news was announced by Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale a short while ago via his twitter feed.
If you’re in any doubt of Birch’s credentials, he produced Maiden’s Killers and Number of the Beast, Deep Purple’s Machine Head, Sabbath’s Heaven and Hell… He was involved with so many genuine classics it’s almost unbelievable.
As always, our thoughts go out to his family, friends and colleagues – and we celebrate him with an example of his work.
