Code Orange
GRAMMY nominated band Code Orange have announced that they will release Under the Skin, a new digital album this Friday, September 4th. The album officially captures and chronicles Code Orange’s full band stripped-down “Under the Skin” livestream with enhanced audio.
Conceptually akin to classic MTV Unplugged performances, but with digital twists and turns, Code Orange originally transmitted “Under the Skin” around the world live via Twitch from Pittsburgh, PA earlier this summer. Under the Skin also includes a striking rendition of the Alice In Chains classic “Down In A Hole”, which is now available on the band’s YouTube channel with performance footage shot and edited by Sunny Singh of hate5six. Furthermore, the band has launched limited edition Under the Skin merch including a DVD of the performance available for pre-order today.
Sea Wolves of the Atlantic
New album Antifascist Neofolk is 11 tracks and 45 minutes of jangly clean guitars, driving bass, and maudlin vocals. The album sees expanded creativity from the debut EP with influences not only from neofolk but also post punk, goth rock, and post black metal.
“It’s a shame it’s taken five years to get here” says frontman Sea Wolf. “Better late than never, right? The world is a very different place here in 2020 compared to 2015. In 2015, fascists still hid in their bedrooms and basements, but here in 2020 they are literally out on the streets killing people. It’s a crazy world we live in – I’m hoping these songs provide some respite from all the madness swirling around this poor dying Earth.”
Antifascist Neofolk is available now as a from the band’s bandcamp page. The album is also available to be streamed from Spotify, Tidal, Google Play, and many other streaming networks.
