Tour News: HRH Doom vs HRH Stoner / Uli Jon Roth / Virvum + Bloodshot Dawn / Skindred

Stuck for something to do one evening over the coming weeks and months? Here are a few suggestions…

HRH Doom vs HRH Stoner

Fan-chosen favourites Monolord and Fireball Ministry will headline HRH Doom Vs HRH Stoner (Europe’s flagship celebration of Doom and Stoner Rock), which will hit the O2 Academy in Sheffield on 28th & 29th September 2019. One further headliner will be announced on 5th November!

HRH DVS IV is an HRH city experience: a thunderous battle of very, VERY loud metal tribes, who’ll champion their ionate camps at the UK’s number one celebration of these loud, dark, powerful genres.

Hailing from Gothenberg, in metal-heavy Sweden, Monolord were formed in 2013 and stand at the storm fronts of Doom and Stoner music, known for their brooding ominous sound, deep, slow riffs and broiling fuzz, surrounding Thomas Jäger’s vocals. As Angry Metal Guy so aptly put it in review: “Monolord, as a name, suits these guys perfectly, as they are beholden to only one lord, and that is the Lord of the Riff. Since they hit the scene they’ve been bringing massive, fuzzy variations of Black Sabbath/Electric Wizard worship to the table.” That’s an offering sure to please the HRH pilgrims at HRH Doom Vs HRH Stoner IV”!

Fireball Ministry, from Los Angeles, call themselves “The First Church of Rock & Roll”, Since they formed in 1999, the band have specialised in delivering a sound with modern execution, notably analogue-steeped, bottom-heavy tunes, However, the band ionately steer clear of descending into what they call the depths of “mere retread or throwaway novelty swill.”

The two headliners blaze the trail for a portentous line-up of Doom & Stoner talent over the two-day event. Also confirmed for HRH Doom Vs HRH Stoner IV are: Black Rainbows, Church of the Cosmic Skull, Black Moth, Dead Witches, Space Witch, Ten Ton Slug, Master Charger, Oak, Witch Tripper, Poseidon, The Red Widows, Mage, Red Spektor, Deadsmoke, Green Lung, Black Forge, Cower, Hounds!, Psychlona, Flex Bison, and Superseed.

Uli Jon Roth

The former Scorpions guitarist Uli Jon Roth, widely regarded as one of the greatest guitar players ever, is pleased to announce British newcomer Kaleb McKane as his special guest on Uli’s UK November Tour. Kaleb recently released his first EP Universe in Reverse produced by Miles James (Michael Kiwanuka, Emile Sande) and mastered by Gavin Lurssen (Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age). The EP received rave reviews from the press and fans alike. In 2019 Kaleb will release his debut album.

Uli Jon Roth is one of the last greats who is still around to present his magical style of playing which he already forged in the late Sixties when he was still in his teens. Uli played his first ever show in December 1968 – at the age of 13 – and to celebrate his 50th Stage Anniversary, he will play 6 very special UK concerts.

The two hour-plus programme will consist of carefully selected highlights from Uli’s entire musical career, which – by now – is spanning no less than 5 decades! The amazing thing is that Uli Jon Roth keeps on getting better, as we have seen amply demonstrated by his astonishing and powerful recent appearances at the G3 Tour of Europe and the UK with Joe Satriani and John Petrucci.

We are excited to embark on the “Interdimensional Spacegoats Across Europe Tour” with our friends in Bloodshot Dawn. This run is a very special one, as it marks our very first headlining tour since the release of our debut record “Illuminance” in 2016. We can’t wait to perform for all our European ers again, while we all just confusedly float through space and reach infinite enlightenment in the presence of the ultimate generous goat god. Skindred

UK Ragga Rock legends Skindred are pleased to announce that they have added extra shows to this winter’s already comprehensive UK tour with extra shows. Tickets on sale as of right now!

Skindred Drummer Arya Goggin said

We have been blown away by the enthusiasm towards this Winters tour and our want to play everywhere has continued with us adding more shows in more towns to what was already a fairly extensive tour. It is great for us to be playing in more towns which are often starved of shows. Skindred is all about ing the live music industry and ing your local music venue so we could not be more excited to be doing this tour and it was hard for us not to add more dates as we had so many promoters get in touch after the initial tour announcement wanting to be a part of it.

Skindred are also pleased to announce that Glasgow band Bleed From Within will be ing them on their shows in Carlisle, Newcastle , Edinburgh & Aberdeen. Also Jayce Lewis has been added as main to the bands shows in Guildford, Bournemouth, Exeter and Portsmouth. Astroid Boys have been added as main on the band’s Swansea date at Sin City and Black Futures have been added as to the London and first Brighton Concorde shows.

More s to be added and announced shortly.
