This year will be my sixth year attending Bloodstock, and as such I know from experience what to expect and why this festival is my first choice for festivals every year. Bloodstock to me is like a second home: great staff, great crowds and all in all a great time. Many people may think this is soppy but it is one big heavy metal family.
This year, some bands I am most excited for are:
Sabaton, Children Of Bodom, Tesseract, Soulfly, Death Angel, Incite, Parkway Drive, Anthrax, Cradle Of Filth, Thy Art Is Murder, Cancer Bats, Scorpions, Dimmu Borgir, Hypocrisy, Soilwork, Aborted, Footprints In The Custard, Ten Ton Slug, Taake and Eluveitie to name but a few.
Other Stuff
There is more to Bloodstock than just the bands – there is so much to do. From ferris wheels to bumper cars, Bloodstock has something for everyone. Even a museum of metal! What more can you ask for?
New Blood
The Hobgoblin New Blood stage is packed full of bands who entered and won M2TM. If you fancy finding something new, there are many up-and-coming bands to choose from.
Sophie Lancaster
Bloodstock and the S.O.P.H.I.E. Foundation go hand in hand and a better cause could not exist. If you see the SOPHIE stall be sure to pick something up. It is a couple quid for a great cause.
Going Green
Do you care about the environment? Well Bloodstock does and you should too. If attending any festival you should do your part to bring as many reusable items as you possibly can (i.e. bottles/water containers). After all, we all need to share this planet and do our part! In of travel, BOA offers a Big Green Coach from enough locations and a good enough price that you have no excuse!
Simply if you like metal, hours of entertainment, worthwhile charity and the environment… Bloodstock is the place for you. I’ll be there. Will you?
