Nomad Anthem were a Band of the Day a bit over a year ago and got back in touch this week to tell us about their new single “Wake Up Call”. It’s out to stream / purchase later this week (29th Jan), but the band dropped the video ahead of time so you can all get it stuck in your ears nice and early.
The video itself is the wonderful kind of low budget affair we’ve come to love during lockdown, filmed in a rehearsal studio that looks very much like one I from thirty years ago when I went to see a bunch of mates rehearsing in their band (Trident, if anyone from Newcastle circa 1990 them!). Chatting to the band it sounds like the studio could even be one and the same based on where they’re located!
What’s the song about? Who better to tell us than Nomad Anthem themselves:
The song is about experiencing a bad week, being down on your luck and basically feeling that the whole world is against you. The lesson is to archive the negatives and focus on the positives, brush yourself down, get back up on your feet and eventually you’ll get back on the right path.
If you like the video, you can pre-save the track on Spotify, iTunes and Amazon right now.
