Black Stone Cherry – Glasgow Cathouse, 18th November 2016

blackstonecherry_cathouse_2016-1Black Stone Cherry took the opportunity to add in an additional date to the beginning of their tour “An Evening With Tour”. Tonight’s show was “In Aid of the Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Scotland”, after being asked to play by Cathhouse owner Donald MacLeod who also works for the charity.

The boys played their first Glasgow date here back in the day and it’s only fitting they play to an easily sold out Cathouse in aid of this great charity who provide Music Therapy to help children and adults isolated by disability, trauma or illness.

There was no band tonight as Kentucky’s finest hit the stage a little after 9pm following a brief speech by Donald. You can tell straight away the boys are up for it. I’m not going to say too much about tonight – suffice to say we will give full coverage to next Friday’s Royal Concert Hall gig.

blackstonecherry_cathouse_2016-2I will say that highlights tonight included “Soulcreek” with its Bad to the Bone intro, “Me and Mary Jane” rocked the house and the awesome “Blame it on the Boom Boom”. The crowd were in fine form and sang along all night. Ben spent the night doing his usual mad running about, swapping sides with Jon. With the powerhouse that is John at the rear on the drums, Chris was left to belt out those trademark vocals, looking rather dapper in his brimmed hat and was real chatty between tracks.

I will say that this may have been the best I have ever seen the boys and you all should really look forward to the tour. I would have posted the setlist but I won’t spoil the fun. If you would like to donate to this amazing charity log onto the website or Facebook page and make a much appreciated donation.
