Single Review: Cruel Hearts Club – Blame Me Too

Missing your festivals and summer anthems? Well Cruel Hearts Club’s “Blame Me Too” could just be the answer. This London trio are already making their mark on the indie rock scene during their infancy ing The Libertines last year and have confirmed they will be ing Sting on his tour later this year. Hot on the tail of previously released “Suck It Up”, new track “Blame Me Too” is sure to catapult them into the limelight further.

Their new track takes on a dirtier sound, drenched in fuzzy guitars and angsty punk vocals, it’s their grungiest number to date delivered with indignation. It’s a powerful reminder of the resilience we have when we’re hurting and dealing with these situations. Although full of the bitter taste that any break up leaves you with, its punchy chorus is uplifting and contagious and will have you hooked in no time.

It’s a sentimental trip back to 90’s summer’s gone, where grunge ruled the world and rules were made to be broken. It made me long for festivals gone, where Smashing Pumpkins, Elastica and Garbage topped the bill. So crack open a beer and lie in a field somewhere with your headphones in and enjoy this superb number and the nostalgia it brings. And let’s hope there’ll be no more lost summers.

“Blame Me Too” is out Friday 22nd May
